A fiber laser marking machine utilizes a laser in which a glass fiber doped with rare-earth elements serves as the gain medium. In recent years, fiber laser marking machines have emerged as a focal point of research in laser physics and are widely regarded as a new generation of products with the potential to completely supersede traditional solid-state lasers.

 

Fiber lasers can be developed based on the principles of fiber amplifiers: under the influence of pump light, an extremely high power density is readily generated within the optical fiber. This phenomenon induces a "population inversion" within the laser medium's energy levels; when an appropriate positive feedback loop is introduced-thereby forming a resonant cavity-laser oscillation output is achieved. Fiber laser marking machines employ a laser beam to create permanent markings on the surfaces of various materials. The marking effect is achieved through several mechanisms: the evaporation of the surface layer to expose the underlying material; the induction of physical changes in the surface layer via light energy to form etched traces; or the ablation (burning away) of specific portions of the material to reveal the desired patterns, text, barcodes, or other graphic elements.
